So why is it that restaurant people always jam their napkin holders so full of napkins that you can't get any out. I think they use a hydraulic press or something. So you try to get one, but it rips into little strips, and you also get pieces of other napkins that you didn't want. You do this a few times and you get lots of little napkin strips, which isn't quite the same as a couple whole napkins, which is what you really want. Finally you just pull out a big chunk of paper and throw it away, and then the thing seems to work pretty well. This doesn't seem very efficient to me. I think this is a big restaurant-people joke and they're sitting in the back laughing us trying to deal with it.
